Makasiini Contemporary, located at the Train Factory, is an internationally minded contemporary art gallery that expanded to Vallila in 2025. Made up of three exhibition spaces, the 750-square-metre venue rises to 13.5 metres at its highest, and abundant natural light makes the warehouse halls an impressive stage for art. The changing exhibitions showcase both Finnish and international names, and admission is free. The large hall spaces give the works room that you don't often see in an ordinary gallery.
Kino Konepaja brings the big screen to an industrial setting. The cinema is also a bar, so you can start the evening with food and drinks and carry on to a film in the same place. The atmosphere of the engineering-works halls combined with new releases makes every screening an experience.
Konepajan Näyttämö is a theatre and performance stage with around 200 seats, hosting both theatre performances and seated concerts. Alongside it is the live venue Tähti, whose stage features gigs by Finnish artists and musicians. In summer, a large terrace also opens at Konepajan Näyttämö. The Train Factory is located in Vallila, between Aleksis Kiven Katu and Teollisuuskatu. It's about 900 metres from Pasila station and around 1.3 kilometres from Sörnäinen metro station. Tram 3 brings you here from the direction of Linnanmäki, tram 9 stops at Kotkankatu and bus 59 at the Pasilan konepaja stop. For those arriving by car, there's a customer car park on the north side of the Train Factory, with entry from Bruno Granholminkuja 2 via Teollisuuskatu.
